From Concept to Render: Our Process in Four Phases
September 8, 2024

Most 3D visualization briefs arrive as a floor plan, a reference image, and a budget. Our job is to close the gap between what exists on paper and what the client sees in their mind.
Phase 1 is discovery. We ask more questions than most clients expect: What is the purpose of this space? Who inhabits it? What do you want them to feel within thirty seconds of entering? The answers to these questions drive every decision that follows.
Phase 2 is massing and light. We block out the space in 3D without any surface detail — just volumes, openings, and a light study. This is the phase where fundamental spatial decisions are made and where changes are cheapest. We always present this to clients before moving forward.
Phase 3 is materiality. We select and apply surfaces, textures, and finishes. This is where the project gains its character. We source materials from real manufacturers so that what appears in the render can actually be built.
Phase 4 is final rendering and delivery. We produce the agreed number of views at full resolution, optimize for the intended use (print, presentation, digital), and deliver in the agreed formats with all source files.
The places where projects fail are almost always in Phase 1 — when the brief is rushed or assumptions go unchallenged. We take Phase 1 seriously because it saves everyone time.
