How Architect-Led Remote Design Works

How Architect-Led Remote Design Works

Remote design fails when it tries to imitate a local office instead of building a process that is actually native to distributed work.

At Somaz, architect-led remote design starts with scope clarity. Before we sketch a plan or define a material, we identify the project's market, decision-makers, stage, and whether a licensed local partner will be needed later. That decision changes the package from the beginning.

The second layer is design direction. We do not begin with image production. We begin with spatial decisions: what the project needs to achieve, how circulation should work, what the material logic is, and what level of technical definition the next step requires.

The third layer is packaging. A remote project only stays efficient when the deliverables are built for alignment. That means presentations for owners, visual material for investors or boards, and packages that help builders, consultants, or architects-of-record understand the design intent without guessing.

The final layer is local execution. In Argentina, Somaz can take broader architectural scope directly when jurisdiction allows it. In the US and abroad, local sign-off, code adaptation, and submission stay with the appropriate licensed partner. The value of the model is not pretending those layers are the same. The value is keeping them coordinated from the start.
